8-10" (20.5-25.5cm) of gold-filled 22-gauge dead-soft square wire, cut in two equal lengths 10-12" (25.5-30.5 cm) of gold-filed 26-gauge

1. Secure 1 piece of 22g square wire in the pin vise. Measure IY2" (3.8 cm) down on each piece of 22g wire from the chuck of the vise and place a piece of tape there, covering 1" (2.5 cm) of wire. Fold the tape evenly over the wire; this will prevent that area, which will later become the pulley, from being twisted. Twist one end until there is W (3.2 cm) of twisted wire after the taped section. Note your twist count when you nave made as tight a twist as you'd like. Repeat for the second part of the wire. You can choose to maintain the same tightness of twist on this side of the tape as the first side or vary the twist. Repeat with the second earring.
2. Turn a simple loop at both ends of each wire.
3. Remove the tape from the wire. Place the beginning of the untwisted portion of one 22g square wire within the jaws of the forming pliers. Wrap the wire around the round jaw until the untwisted wire is completely wrapped, or two to three full circles around the forming pliers. Repeat for second earring.
4. Wrap the briolettes with the 26g wire. Add 1 briolette to the simple loop at one end of each twisted wire and add 2 briolettes to the simple loop at the other end to create the "weighted" look. Repeat for second earring.
5. Attach the center pulley loop of each wire to an ear wire with a jump ring.
VARIATION: You may also dangle one briolette from a jump ring attached to the pulley circle.
